Deadline for online registration for all students who are participating in the fair. Exceptions to this include students whose local science fair occurred after this date. In this case, prior arrangements should be made by the local fair personnel with GGSF. See Student Information for more details.

Deadline: Project Pickup
Mar 21 @ 9:00 am – 10:00 am

Project board will be picked up at **feeder fair locations between 9:00 – 10:00 am.

**If you are not participating in a feeder fair, please message the Assistant Director at for directions to your nearest drop—off center, or you may drop it off at the US Army Corps of Engineers Bay Model Visitor Center in Sausalito on Thursday, March 21st between 10 am – 2 pm.

Initial Project Judging Day
Mar 22 @ 9:00 am – 10:00 am

Students do not need to be present for the initial judging. Students being considered for first place in their category will be contacted by email Friday evening if they need to come in for an interview the following morning. Interviews will take place on Saturday, March 23rd from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm.

Public Event and Awards Ceremony @ Bay Model Visitor Center
Mar 23 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

9:00 am – 4:00 pm: Public Event

The Bay Model is open to all public visitors to view projects and participate in event activities. ALL STUDENTS should plan on attending the public event before the awards ceremony to engage with activities, other students, view projects.

12:30 pm – 2:00 pm: Show Off!!!

ALL STUDENTS are encouraged to stand near their projects and explain to the public your project during this time. You may BRING YOUR ACTUAL SCIENCE PROJECT to set in front of your project during this time.

8:30 am – 12:30 pm: First Place Interviews

Only students who have been contacted attend Students who will be interviewed for first place will be contacted via email on Friday evening if they are to come in for interviews. Your email will contain your interview time.

2:00 – 3:30 pm: Awards Ceremony

ALL PARTICIPANTS should plan on attending the awards ceremony! All students are eligible for the many special awards given by our partners and sponsors. First through Third place winners will be announced and awarded at the ceremony. There will also be a SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER at the ceremony presenting their current research. All other ribbons will be placed on projects before Saturday morning.

3:30 – 4:00 pm: Project Removal

ALL STUDENTS must remove their projects by 4:00 pm. Remaining projects will be available to pick up at the Bay Model Visitor Center through Friday, March 29. After this date, remaining projects will BE RECYCLED.
